The heart behind Derma Lounge.
Hi, I’m Hayley.
If you had told me when I started Derma Lounge that it would eventually become my full-time career, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.
At the time, I was working full-time as a nurse in the operating room and also picking up shifts in the emergency room. I started Derma Lounge as a fun little side gig - mostly treating friends and family - just seeing where it would take me.
Three weeks later, my life completely changed. I was diagnosed with lymphoma and found myself facing six months of intense chemotherapy. I wasn’t able to work in the ER or the OR during treatment, so suddenly this little business I’d started on the side became the one thing I had to focus on.
And I poured myself into it.
I spent those six months learning, growing, building relationships, and figuring out what I wanted Derma Lounge to become. What started as something fun quickly became something I was passionate about.
When I finished chemotherapy, I was finally healthy enough to return to my nursing “dream jobs”. But by then, something unexpected had happened.
I didn’t want to go back.
Derma Lounge had grown far beyond the little side business I’d started just a few months earlier. I had fallen in love with aesthetics, but even more than that, I had fallen in love with the people.
I loved getting to know my patients. I loved helping someone feel confident again. I loved the artistry and attention to detail that goes into creating beautiful, natural results.
So I took a leap and chose Derma Lounge. And I’ve never looked back.
My Approach
My approach to aesthetics is simple; you should understand what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and feel confident in the decision every step of the way.
I’ve had so many patients come to me after being treated elsewhere who aren’t quite sure what was injected into them, where it was placed, or why it was chosen for them. That has really shaped the way I practice.
At Derma Lounge, education is part of the treatment.
Before we ever decide what to inject or which treatment is right for you, I want you to understand your options. We’ll talk through what we’re using, how it works, what it can-and can’t do, and why I believe it may or may not be appropriate for you.
I never want you to feel like you’re simply being told what you need to have done. You should be an active part of the decision.
And when it comes to aesthetics, I believe less can be more. My goal isn’t to change your features or chase every line and imperfection. It’s to understand what you love about your face, what you’d like to improve, and create a thoughtful plan that keeps you looking like you.
My goal is for you to leave Derma Lounge feeling not only refreshed and confident, but educated, empowered, and completely comfortable with the choices we’ve made together.
You Should Never Have to Guess.
You deserve to understand what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and feel confident every step for the way.
What began during one of the hardest seasons of my life became one of the greatest things I’ve ever built.
